Woman with tricolor painted on face denied entry in Golden Temple, SGPC gives clarification

Chandigarh: The case of the girl being prevented from going to the Golden Temple by putting a sticker of the tricolor on the premises has sparked a discussion. The video in this regard is going viral on social media.

SGPC general secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal has expressed regret over the treatment meted out to the devotees by the staff of the committee in this regard. He has also expressed regret over the criticism in this regard. He said that the matter is being given a wrong color.

The SGPC said that people from all sections and religion can pay obeisance at Golden Temple and it is wrong to give it a communal angle, he said that the honor of this tricolor has been enhanced by the Sikhs the most and many sacrifices have been made for its honor.

Some forces want to defame the Sikhs and tarnish the reputation of the Sikhs, such attempts have been made in the past. Every religion has certain principles and rules, which must be followed. The matter came to light when the video went viral on social media.

The video is stated to be two days old and the servitor standing at the Darbar Sahib stops the girl and the girl brings along one of her supporters.
