Simranjit Singh Mann raises the issue of not having a Sikh judge in Parliament

New Delhi: Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann has raised the issue of not being a Sikh judge in the Supreme Court. The Debate on the Family Court Amendment Bill was going on in the Lok Sabha in which the opponents raised the issue of delay in appointment of the judge.

Simranjit Mann said Union law minister Kiren Rijiju was worried that there were no judges from Bihar and Jharkhand in the Supreme Court.

But, I am worried that there is no Sikh judge in the Supreme Court.

Simranjit Mann has recently been elected MP from Sangrur and is an avowedly pro-Khalistan.

Recently, he had called Shaheed Bhagat Singh a terrorist after becoming an MP. His statement caused a lot of uproar across the country.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab has asked them to apologise. At the same time the opponents also attacked Mann for his remarks against freedom fighters.
