HP makes both doses vaccination certificate or RT-PCR report must for tourists

 

Himachal Pradesh: Considering a fresh surge in Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh, the state government has made it mandatory for tourists coming to the state to carry either the vaccination certificate (both doses) or the RT-PCR negative report issued not earlier than 72 hours.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that rising Covid-19 cases in the state has become a cause of concern and to combat virus spread concrete step has to be taken. the state has decided to re-impose some restrictions.
The state government has also directed tourists visiting the state to install “Aarogya setu” app on their mobile.
The decision has upset the Hindu devotees, who were planning to visit the Hindu shrines in the state and many people have also raised slogans against the HP government, urging them to revoke this decision.
Earlier, various videos went viral on social media in which tourists were seen thronging the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh after relaxation in Covid-19 restrictions lifted by HP government on entry. Shimla, Dalhousie, Dharmshala and Manali had witnessed heavy influx from the northern Indian states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttarakhand and it led to a rise in Covid-19 cases.
