Mann’s days are numbered as chief minister, says Bajwa

Chandigarh: Senior congress leader & Punjab’s leader of the opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday has said Bhagwant Mann days were numbered as chief minister.

“ Kejriwal wanted to showcase the Punjab model to the entire country before going to the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. However he has been completely disenchanted the way Mann with his inexperienced and inept handling of the administration and the governance of the state has virtually left no scope for the AAP to do well in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls”, added Bajwa.

Bajwa said he could give it in writing congress was going to win the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-poll hands down and the AAP would be relegated to number four or even fifth position.

Both Kejriwal and Mann got the first taste of their becoming unpopular in Punjab when the AAP party lost the Sangrur Lok Sabha by election within weeks of posting a massive victory in the Punjab assembly polls. “ It was unprecedented. Mann was unable to register a win even from his home constituency”, added Bajwa.

Bajwa said the law and order situation in the state has virtually gone from bad to worse. Police stations were being captured and cops were injured by the protesting mobs. Till date no FIR has been registered in this regard.

“ Illegal mining has been rampant and the state government has been admonished many times even by the Punjab & Haryana High Court and by the Punjab Governor as well

”, said Bajwa.
