DGCA imposes Rs 10 lakh fine on Air India for not reporting 2nd peeing incident on flight

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Air India for urinating in a blanket on a Paris-New Delhi flight.

The DGCA said that the incident that took place on December 6, 2022, was not reported, due to which the penalty has been imposed.

According to the case, a male passenger on Air India’s AI 142 Paris-Delhi flight smoked a cigarette in the washroom and then urinated on the blanket of a female passenger lying on a seat.

After this, this action has been taken. This is the second time in the last one month that Air India has been fined heavily.

On November 26 last year, aviation regulator DGCA had imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Air India and Rs 3 lakh on the director of services during an Air India flight and also suspended the licence of the pilot in charge for three months for violating several rules during a flight.

The flight landed in Delhi from Paris. Airport security was told that the male passenger was drunk and was not following the instructions of the cabin crew. He urinated on the blanket of the woman passenger in an inebriated state.

The male passenger was caught by the CRPF in Delhi regarding the whole matter, but after the agreement between the two passengers, the male passenger was released.

On November 26 last year, a male passenger was accused of urinating on another Air India flight. According to media reports, the CEO of Air India, including the CEO, had complete information about the case.
