Railways to operate two trains connecting Amritsar, New Jalpaiguri

New Delhi: Northern Railway has announced to run two special trains to Amritsar in Punjab.

Both these trains will run from Gorakhpur and New Jalpaiguri. The Gorakhpur-Amritsar train will leave Gorkhapur at 2.40 pm every Friday and the New Jalpaiguri-Amritsar train will leave New Jalpaiguri from 7 am every Friday.

Though there are still trains from Gorakhpur to Amritsar, the further increase of one train will greatly benefit the passengers.

The maximum number of 5 trains from Gorakhpur to Amritsar will be on every Fridays while on the rest of the day, three or two trains leave Gorakhpur for Amritsar.

Gorakhpur to Amritsar, each train has different fare. In the Jannayak Express (15211), it has a fare of Rs 305 for the second class. The Jannayak train runs only on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Similarly, in the Jansadharan Express (15531), people will have to pay a fare of Rs 315 in the second class, which runs from Gorakhpur on Sundays.
