Beijing on alert after Omicron case

New Delhi: Following detection of Omicron variant of the coronavirus, the Chinese authorities on Sunday ordered restrictions to curb the virus spread.

Authorities has asked schools in two districts to go online, shut down a Buddhist monastery and tested about 13,000 people for virus for virus, a day after first Omicron virus was detected ahead of the Winter Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Beijing has also ordered to make nucleic acid tests mandatory for anyone entering the city from next week.
