Won’t join BJP says Ghulam Nabi Azad

New Delhi: Hitting out at the Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that the party needs medicine, not dua, for treatment. He said medicines were being given to the Congress by compounders instead of doctors. He accused the leadership of not having the time to bring the party back on track and that Rahul Gandhi did not show interest in politics.

He said efforts were made to make Rahul a leader but it could not be possible.

Talking to reporters at his residence after quitting the Congress party, Azad alleged that the Congress was “disintegrating” instead of uniting with the leaders who were being imposed in the states. He also said that he will not join the BJP as his politics in Jammu and Kashmir will not get any help.

He claimed that assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir could be announced any time and he would form his own party soon. “Those who are spreading misinformation about joining hands with the BJP are playing into the hands of the BJP and this propaganda is being spread by the Congress against me.

On the post-poll alliance, he said there are several other parties with which the new party can merge.

“The foundation of the Congress has become very weak and the organisation can collapse at any time. That is why I and some other leaders have decided to leave the party now. He said he will continue his attack on the Congress and five of the six former Congress MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir have joined him.
