Udaipur: 7th accused arrested in connection with tailor’s murder

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the seventh person identified as Farhad Mohammad Sheikh in connection with the murder of Tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur city of Rajasthan last month.

Sheikh alias ‘Babla’ has been arrested last night, an NIA spokesperson said. He is a close aide of Riyaz Akhtari, the main accused in the Kanhaiya Lal murder case.

He had played a major role in the conspiracy hatched regarding the murder of Kanhaiya Lal.

Tailor Kanhaiya Lal was murdered in his own shop on June 28. Riyaz Akhtari had attacked him with a knife. The video of the murder was made by Gauss Mohammed on his mobile phone and later the video was posted on social media.

This was followed by a message that Kanhaiya Lal had been murdered for the crime of desecrating Islam. The police had arrested Riyaz Akhtari and Gauss Mohammed within a few hours after the murder incident. Later, four more persons were held.
