Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team has been attacked by militants on a road in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
A security force personnel was also injured in the incident after militants opened fire on the convoy. The injured Constable has been identified as Ajay Kumar.
According to the information, the ultras attacked the team at Kralcheck while they were carrying out road opening duties.
Meanwhile, the area had been cordoned off and search operations has begun by the officials.
It is pertinent to mention here that Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a 2-day trip to Kashmir. He will be visiting Mata Kheer Bavani temple in Tulmal Ganderbal and later the Hazratbal shrine before inaugurating the Congress party headquarters in Srinagar.
