Jalandhar: In a major relief to Catholic Bishop Franco Mulakkal, the Kerala court on Friday acquitted him in nun rape case.
The Kuravilangad police had booked him a nun two years back, who had served as mother general with the Jesus of Missionaries at Jalandhar, allegedly that she was raped on multiple occasion by Mulakkal.
She alleged that she was raped 13 times between 2014 and 2016 at Kuravilangad convent in Kottayam.
Meanwhile, the case was registered after 86 days of investigation in which police recorded statements of 81 witnesses against Bishop on September 21, 2018.
