Swing crashes down from 50 feet, nearly 50 injured in Mohali

Chandigarh: In a tragic incident, a 50-feet swing crashed after breaking mid-air within a Mohali fair injuring nearly 50 people on board. The injured includes children and women, have been undergoing treatment at nearby hospitals and stated to be stable.

According to the information, a trade fair was organized in the name of London Bridge in Mohali. The fair was to last till September 11. During this, when the swing was at a height of about 50 feet last night, suddenly its cable broke and it fell within a few seconds.Due to the fall of the swing, the people sitting in it have suffered a lot of injuries.

In this case it came to light that the swing which was broken belonged to the Jaipur company whose owner is Mukesh Sharma. The police have ordered all the records related to the swing from the company.

Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari said, “Sad to learn about this extremely unfortunate incident in Mohali. While wishing the injured speedy recovery have requested DC Mohali Sh Amit Talwar to get the entire matter judicially probed & ensure that this malfeasance is strictly penalised by holding the guilty accountable.”
