London: A 68-year-old Indian-origin Sikh has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison in the UK for making hate speeches on social media targeting Dalit communities.
Amrik Bajwa, 68, was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to sending abusive/obscene/threatening messages through a public communication network, Thames Valley police said.
On July 19, 2022, Bajwa had posted a video on TikTok and was arrested on July 22.
The UK-based Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), which was one of the leading organisations that brought Bajwa’s TikTok video to the notice of the police, said it was adding too much poison to the content and was racist and racist. It targets Dalits.
