Sidhu to remain Punjab Chief, meeting CM Channi today

New Delhi: Mohammad Mustafa, adviser to Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday said that Sidhu will continue to work as Punjab Congress chief and the issue will be sorted out amicably within the party.

“The issue will be resolved soon. Sidhu sometimes acts emotionally and party high command understands this and knows that he is not beyond the Congress leadership,” he said.

Sidhu has also agreed to meet Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for talks two days after he resigned from his post state chief.

“Chief Minister has invited me for talks … will reciprocate by reaching Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh at 3:00 PM today, he is welcome for any discussions,” Sidhu wrote on his official twitter account on Thursday.

Earlier, on Wednesday, CM Channi said he has spoken to Navjot Singh Sidhu and invited him to talks so that the differences, if any, can be ironed out.

Sidhu had resigned from the post of the Punjab Congress president saying that he won’t be able to compromise with ethics and moral authority. Sidhu, on Wednesday, also posted a video on his official twitter account and said that he would keep fighting for welfare of Punjab and he resigned as party high command has again given positions to some persons who had worked against the Punjab people.
