Chandigarh: In a major step, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has cut the 424 people including several VIPs including former MLAs, current and former police officers of the state.
Apart from this, the Punjab government has also curtailed the security of several religious leaders.
As per the information received, those whose security has been reduced by the Punjab Government include Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh, 3 current ADGP and Dera Chief. The government has also withdrawn 10 employees from the security of Dera Radha Swami Beas
Two employees have been withdrawn from the security of Majitha MLA Ganieve Kaur Majithia.
The security of former Punjab DGP PC Dogra has been withdrawn. He is the father-in-law of ADGP Gaurav Yadav, who is currently posted in CMO.
All the withdrawn employees will report to the special DGP at Jalandhar Cantt today. A few days ago also the Punjab government had cut down on the security of several former MLAs.
