RPG attack at police station: Opposition attacks Punjab govt

Chandigarh: Following RPG attack at a police station in Taran-Tarn wee hours on Friday and Saturday, opposition have attacked Aam Aadmi Party government for allegedly deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has condemned the rocket launcher attack on Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran and also corned the ruling AAP government. He said, “This is 2nd time in 6 months police building attacked with rocket launcher in Punjab. It’s direct result of AAP govt’s apathy in maintaining law & order & allowing narco-terrorism to raise its head again.”

Badal said chief minister Bhagwant Mann should understand the gravity of the situation and take concrete measures.

Dubbing it a ‘Darda Punjab’, Congress Punjab President Amarinder Raja Warring said, “Ominous signals.

This is quite serious. Enemies of peace have the audacity to attack police stations. It does not portend well for Punjab. We have to fight against it together. Govt at the Centre and State have to take the lead. Can’t take such threats lightly.”

Senior SAD leader Bikram Majithia said that peace in our border State is of utmost imp & CM Bhagwant Mann should focus on this & ensure Punjab does not slip back into anarchy with breakdown of law & order & ingress of narco-terrorism. We need the foresight to see this threat & tackle it instead of politicising every issue & sweeping it under the carpet. Punjab Police India.
