New Delhi: The Uniform Civil Code Private Bill was introduced in the Rajya Sabha. There was a ruckus in the House over this bill introduced by BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena. After the debate heated up, Union Minister Piyush Goyal asked why it could not be introduced.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar rejected the opposition’s demand to stop it. It was later passed by 63 votes against 23.
