Punjab CM greets people on Parkash Purb od Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday greeted the people on Prakash Purb of the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

On this sacred occasion, Bhagwant Mann paid obeisance at the nearby historic Gurdwara Sri Nabha Sahib, where the holy Sis (the severed head) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was brought by his devout Sikh Baba Jeevan Singh Ji (Bhai Jaita Ji), who stopped at this place at the request of an aged Muslim saint, Faqir Dargahi Shah, a disciple of the Guru Sahib, while on his way to Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Earlier in his recorded video message, the Chief Minister called upon the people to follow the eternal message of universal brotherhood, religious freedom and welfare of mankind (Chardikala) as propagated by ‘Hind di Chadar’.

Throwing light on the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib since his early childhood till he attained martyrdom for the sake of humanity and religious tolerance, Bhagwant Mann said that Guru Ji’s supreme sacrifice shall ever remain a beacon of inspiration for the world.

Imploring the people to follow the teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in the right earnest, Bhagwant Mann said that the essence of Ninth Guru ji’s message was love, secularism, freedom of faith and peaceful coexistence, which was still relevant in the present times.
