PM Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben passes away

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben passed away today. PM Modi arrives in Gandhinagar to pay his last respects to his mother.

PM Modi along with his brothers shouldered and lit the pyre to their mother Heeraben. Only family members of PM Modi were present on this occasion. BJP workers and leaders were forbidden to gather on the occasion.

Earlier, Heeraben passed away at 3.30 am today. She was admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad. Earlier, PM Modi paid tribute to his mother by tweeting.

He tweeted that the glorious century comes to an end at god’s feet… In Maa, I have always felt the trinity that includes the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless ‘karmayogi’ and a life committed to values.

At the same time, Heeraben’s family has made an emotional appeal. “We are thankful to everyone for your prayers in this difficult time. It is our humble request to everyone to keep the departed soul in their thoughts and continue with their pre-scheduled programme. This will be a true tribute to Heeraben.”

On Thursday, the Gujarat government had informed that her condition is continuously improving, she can be discharged in a day or two. PM Modi also visited the UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad to enquire about the health condition of his mother, where Heeraben was admitted.
