Toronto: In an unprecedented move amid rising Covid-19 cases, the Canadian province of Quebec has decided to impose a health tax on people who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus vaccine.
Quebec has witnessed highest number of Covid-19 related deaths in the country and currently battling to contain surge of omicron variant.
Meanwhile, it will be first of its kind in the country to financially penalise the unvaccinated as around 12.8%people of Quebec are not vaccinated, but they make up nearly a third of all hospital cases.
