KL Rahul fined Rs 24 lakh for slow run rate

New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul has been fined Rs 24 lakh for his slow over rate in the IPL match against Mumbai Indians (MI).

This was Rahul’s second slow over-rate offence of the season. Earlier, KL Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakh. “KL Rahul has been fined Rs 24 lakh and the rest of the playing XI members have been fined Rs 6 lakh or 25% of the match fee,” the IPL said in a statement.

If KL Rahul does this one more time this season, he will be banned for one match. KL Rahul played a key role in the team’s victory by playing an unbeaten 103 off 62 balls against Mumbai.

Batting first, Lucknow scored 168 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai could only score 132 runs and lost the match by 36 runs. With this win, Lucknow has come fourth in the points table.
