New Delhi: After a long wait, the FIFA World Cup is finally starting from today. The first match will be played between hosts Qatar and Ecuador at 9.30 pm. The match will be played at the Al Beit Stadium, 40 km from Doha. In this stadium, the opening ceremony will be held just two hours before the match, in which many big stars will be seen performing.
What will happen at the opening ceremony?
The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will start at 7.30 pm IST. Jangkuk, a member of South Korea’s famous band BTS, will be seen performing here. American band Black Eyed Pease, Nigerian singer Patrick Nannemeka Okori, Columbian singer Jay Balvin and American rapper Lil Baby will also perform. Nora Fatehi from Bollywood will also be seen singing the official song ‘Light the Sky’ of FIFA World Cup 2022 here
First match: Qatar vs Ecuador
In the first match of the FIFA World Cup 2022, host Qatar’s team will face Ecuador. The match will start at 9.30 pm Indian time. While Qatar’s team is ranked 51st in the FIFA rankings, Ecuador’s team is ranked 46th. That is, both teams are almost equal. There have been three matches between the two teams so far, in which one match has been won by Qatar and one match won by Ecuador.
