Farmers unions announced to start infinite protest against AAP government from May 17

Chandigarh: The farmers 16 unions under Samyukta Kisan Morcha have announced to start an indefinite Delhi-like agitation against state government in Chandigarh from May 17.

Lashing out at newly formed Aam Aadmi Party and its chief minister Bhagwant Mann for not fulfilling poll promises including bonus on wheat, uninterrupted power supply and MSP on basmati among others, SKM said that they would hold an infinite protest across the state if the demands were not fulfilled soon.

They said that a tractor-trailer march will be held to commence agitation.

The move came after 20 farmer unions held in a meeting in Ludhiana yesterday under the leadership of BKU (Lakhowal) general secretary Harinder Singh Lakhowal and decided to launch front against AAP government.
