CWC 2022: Indian players won 9 medals so far, check the winner’s list

Birmingham: Four days have passed since the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Indian athletes have won 9 medals so far. Of these, there are 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 silver medals.

In the events held so far, India has won the highest number of 7 medals in weightlifting while the remaining two medals have been won in judo. Who are the players who won this medal for India? See here

 

1. Sanket Mahadev Sagar (Silver Medal)

Weightlifter Sanket Mahadev Sargar gave India its first medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022. On the second day of the Commonwealth Games, he won silver in the men’s 55kg weight class by lifting 113kg in snatch and 135kg in clean and jerk, i.e. a total of 248kg. He was just 1kg behind gold medalist weightlifter Mohammed Anik of Malaysia.

2. Gururaj Pujari (Bronze Medal)

Weightlifter Gururaja Poojary gave India its second medal at the Commonwealth Games. He won the bronze medal in the men’s 61kg weight class by lifting 269kg.

 

3. Mirabai Chanu (Gold Medal)

Olympic medalist Mirabai Chanu gave India its first gold at the Commonwealth Games. She won the gold medal in the 49kg category by lifting a total of 201kg. Mirabai lifted 88kg in snatch and 113kg in clean.

 

4. Bindiyarani Devi (Silver Medal)

In the women’s 55 kg category, weightlifter Bindiarani Devi won India silver. She lifted 86kg in snatch and 116kg in clean and jerk i.e. a total of 202kg. She went gold by just 1kg.

 

CWG 3rd Day:

5. Jeremy Lalrinnunga (Gold Medal)

Jeremy Lalrinnunga has given India its second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. He lifted 300kg in the 67 kg category to claim the gold. He became the champion by lifting 7kg more weight than silver medalist Vypava Loane (293kg).

6. Achinta Shiuli (Gold Medal)

Achinta Shiuli lifted 143 kg in the snatch round and 170 kg in the clean and jerk round in the men’s 73 kg weight class. In this way, he lifted a total of 313 kg and put the third gold in India’s bag.

 

CWG 4th Day:

7. Sushila Devi (Silver Medal)

Sushila Devi Likmabam won the silver medal in the 48 kg judo weight class. In the final, Sushila was pitted against South Africa’s Michelle Whiteboi, where she lost in extra time.

8. Vijay Kumar Yadav (Bronze Medal)

Vijay Kumar Yadav led India to a bronze medal in judo. He had lost to Joshua of Australia in the quarterfinals in the men’s 60 kg category. After this, he got a chance in the repechage bouts and here he won the bronze medal. Vijay defeated Cyprus’ Preto 10-0 in the bronze medal match.

9. Harjinder Kaur (Bronze Medal)

Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won the bronze medal in the women’s 71kg weight class by lifting a total of 212 kg. Harjinder lifted 93 kg in snatch and 119 kg.
