Conspiracy distorted history, being rectified now: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India’s history has been one of bravery but unfortunately even after Independence, the history that was created as a conspiracy in the dark period of slavery has been taught.

He said that after independence, there was a need to change the agenda of foreigners who enslaved India, but this was not done.

Modi was addressing the valedictory function of the year-long celebrations to mark the Lachit Barphukan 400th birth anniversary at Vigyan Bhawan here.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also inaugurated an exhibition here in connection with the 400th birth anniversary of Barphukan. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Governor Jagdish Mukhi and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal were among those present on the occasion.
