Channi insulted Sant Ravidas, Guru Gobind with ‘UP, Bihar ke bhaiya’ comment: PM Modi

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed the Congress and Gandhi family over CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s ‘UP, Bihar ke Bhaiya’ remark.

Modi, while addressing an election rally in Abohar in Punjab, said that there is no village in Punjab where people from UP-Bihar are not there.

Channi, two days back made this remark during a roadshow and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was standing by him smiling and applauding.

“Just yesterday, we celebrated the birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas ji. Is Sant Ravidas ji born in Punjab? He was born in Uttar Pradesh and CM Channi has insulted the teachings of Ravidass ji by saying that brothers of UP will not be allowed to enter. Will you ease his name” Modi said.

Earlier, Modi during his rally in Fazilka, without taking name targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and “Those who do not want to let you enter Delhi are asking for votes from you, such a leader has no right to do anything in Punjab.

Modi further said that Guru Gobind Singh ji was born in Patna, Bihar and Congress will drive out people of Bihar. Will people tolerate this insult to Guru Gobind Singhji?, he said during his rally.

PM Modi said, “I have been to different areas of Punjab in the last few days and people of want that BJP must win to transform the state. The government of double engine in Punjab has to be formed for development,” he said.
