Ottawa: To tackle the shotage of labour amid unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, the Canadian government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is planning to meet this year’s goal of 401,000 new permanent residents and is set to revise up next year’s target of 411,000.
“Canada needs immigration to create jobs and drive our economic recovery,” Immigration Minister Sean Fraser.
Officials said that country is facing acute shortage of labourers and workers and due to Covid-19 it couldn’t bring many people from other countries, therefore, the authorities are all set to achieve the target in next year.
