Bangladesh coach Domingo resigns after India’s Test defeat

New Delhi: Bangladesh cricket team head coach Russell Domingo has resigned from his post. His tenure was to last till the World Cup 2023. But this decision was taken after the defeat in the Test series against India. He joined the Bangladesh team as head coach in September 2019. Doming was included in place of Steve Rhodes. Bangladesh Cricket Board chairman Jalal Yunus has reacted to this.

Bangladesh head coach Domingo has resigned without completing his term. According to a report published on Cricbuzz, his tenure was to last till the World Cup 2023. But he has already resigned. According to the report, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus has confirmed this. “He (Domingo) sent his resignation on Tuesday itself and stepped down with immediate effect,” he said.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan had indicated on Monday that he was not happy with Domingo’s performance. According to Cricbuzz, he had said, “We want to go ahead with the long term plan, not the short term plan. It is a three to four year plan and changes will be made as required during this period.”
