AAP dislodges BJP to win Delhi MC polls

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won a majority in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections.

For the last 15 years, the MC was ruled by the BJP, which has now been taken away by the AAP. Out of the 250 seats, the AAP won 134, the BJP 104, the Congress 9 seats. At the same time, three independent candidates have also won.

After the win, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulated and thanked the people of Delhi for the victory of the Municipal Corporation. “We need the cooperation of the BJP and the Congress and the blessings of the Centre and the Prime Minister to improve the situation in Delhi,” he said.

“We will try to live up to the expectations of the people and appeal to other parties to come together to make Delhi better,” he said.

Gujarat results will be surprising: Bhagwant Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today claimed that the exit polls predicting the party’s defeat in Gujarat will prove to be wrong and the results in Gujarat will be surprising. According to exit polls, AAP is set to lose the Gujarat and Himachal Assembly elections, the results of which will be announced tomorrow.

Talking to reporters in the national capital, the Punjab Chief Minister said, “The trends are now turning into results. Kejriwal overthrew the 15-year rule of the Congress in Delhi. I will be with you tomorrow during the Gujarat assembly election results. The results will be amazing. Exit polls in Gujarat will prove to be wrong. I will go to the party office and celebrate with the workers.”
