7 killed after blast at Bihar’s motihari brick kiln, 16 injured

New Delhi: There has been a big accident in Motihari. The blast took place in a brick kiln chimney in Narilgiri, Ramgarhwa. 7 people have died in the explosion in the brick kiln chimney. More than two dozen people are still feared trapped under the debris. 16 people are undergoing treatment in Raxaul in critical condition.

After the incident, there was a stampede among the people around. Relief and rescue operations are underway. A team of local police and officials is present at the spot. The condition of the injured is also very serious. People in the vicinity say that the sound of the blast was heard far and wide. It has been told by the Bihar Police Headquarters that after the accident, the SDRF team reached the spot and launched a rescue operation.

Among those killed, 4 were locals and 3 were residents of Uttar Pradesh. The police are continuously cooperating and providing necessary help.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the incident. In a tweet on Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote, “Anguished by the loss of lives in an accident at a brick kiln in Motihari. Condolences to the bereaved families. Prayers for the injured. PmNRF will give 2 lakh to the families of each of the deceased. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.”
