YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki resigns, Indian-origin Neil Mohan takes over as new chief

Washington: Susan Diane Wojcicki, chief executive officer (CEO) of global online video-sharing platform YouTube, has stepped down. Along with this, Indian-American Neil Mohan has been made the new head of YouTube.

Neil Mohan was the chief product officer at YouTube till now. He will also be in the role of Senior Vice President of YouTube. YouTube creators have given this information by tweeting.

Neil Mohan has been associated with YouTube since November 2015. According to his Linkdin profile, Neil Mohan has an MBA from Stanford University. He started his career as a senior analyst with Accenture.

Susan Diane Wojcicki is a Polish-American businesswoman. She has been associated with the tech industry for more than 20 years.

She has been the head of YouTube since February 2014. Wojcicki, 54, said she wants to spend more time with her family. She wants to focus on her health and personal life. That is why she is leaving the post.

Wojcicki was one of YouTube’s oldest employees and has been with parent company Alphabet Inc. for nearly 25 years. Prior to YouTube, she worked for Intel Corporation and Bain & Company.
