New Delhi: A new video of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, has surfaced today, in which he can be seen eating fruits and packed food in his cell.
Jain had filed a petition in the local court a few days ago, seeking a direction to tihar jail authorities to provide eatables like fruits and dried fruits as per his religious beliefs.
The recently released videos are from September 13 and October 1.
A Delhi court on Tuesday sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on a plea filed by Delhi minister Jain. The petition was filed on Monday. It has also sought a direction to the jail administration to conduct an immediate medical examination of the minister. It has been said that the minister strictly follows the rules of Jainism but he is not being given food according to his religious belief in jail for the last 12 days.
In the video viral on the social media, it is seen that he is being given food of his choice including fruits and dried fruits. Jain’s lawyers have claimed that he has lost 28 kilos in jail, while he has gained eight kilos. However, jail authorities claimed that he gained about 8 kg weight in the jail.
