Vietnam to reopen for international travel from December 15

Vietnam: The country is planning to resume international flights from December 15. Ministry of Transport has proposed the pilot resumption of flights carrying international passengers to Vietnam.

According to reports, the first phase will take two weeks, and will connect flights between Vietnam and highly safe destinations such as Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Beijing, Vientiane, Singapore, Phnom Penh, and either San Francisco or Los Angeles. The flights will be connected to Vietnam’s international airports of Noi Bai in Hanoi, and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City.

The initial plan is to run four flights per week every way for each side, and about 14000 passengers are expected to visit Vietnam per week. The second phase will last for one month, starting January 2022.

Eventually the flight frequency will be raised to seven flights per week. 40000 passengers are estimated to enter Vietnam per week after the second phase of reopening.
