Twitter shuts down offices in Delhi, Mumbai; asks employees to work frok home

New Delhi: Microblogging site Twitter has closed two of its three offices in India. Along with this, the company has asked all its employees to work from home.

Twitter has taken this step for cost cutting. Last year, Twitter fired nearly 90 per cent of its India office employees. It affected more than 200 people.

After this decision, the company had decided to close its Mumbai and New Delhi. At the same time, the company’s office in Bengaluru will continue to operate.

Only after Elon Musk took over the company, 50 percent of its employees were fired from the job. Musk bought Twitter for $ 44 billion. Since then, they are constantly trying to reduce the company’s expenses to recover their money.

Musk first fired the company’s then CEO Parag Agarwal. Apart from this, he fired at the company and many top officials.

Musk had emailed the employees who were victims of layoffs, saying that it was a difficult decision, but it was necessary to improve the situation of the company.

Along with this, in January 2023, Musk had expressed hope that by the end of 2023, there could be something better in the situation of Twitter.

Twitter had also launched new features like ‘Paid Blue Subscription’ to get a blue tick.
