New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to two years in jail by a Surat court in Gujarat in a defamation case. After being sentenced, Rahul Gandhi reacted and said, “Truth is my God”.
During the hearing, Rahul Gandhi told the court that his intention was not wrong. No one was harmed by his statement. At the same time, he has demanded less punishment for himself in this case.
A case was registered against the Wayanad MP for one of his objectionable remarks. However, now Rahul has also got bail in this case. He had refused to apologise for his statement during the hearing.
