New Delhi: The Delhi Police has received three complaints regarding the JNU controversy. Two complaints have been filed by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and one by JNU Students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh.
The police have taken complaints and started investigating the matter.
Aishe Ghosh said that she has just given a preliminary complaint. She will give a written complaint in detail on Wednesday afternoon. At the same time, police officials say that if there was stone pelting in JNU, someone would have been hurt.
Delhi Police is stationed outside JNU and the situation is under control.
Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday announced the screening of a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is alleged that during this time electricity was cut off in the students’ union office and stones were thrown.
Students marched to the police station to lodge a complaint about stones being thrown at students watching BBC documentaries.
A few days ago, JNU had decided not to show the BBC documentary, but JNUSU announced that it would screen the documentary for the students on its behalf. After this there was a dispute.
