Wellington: New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said today she was resigning and the country will hold general elections in October. With tears in her eyes, Ardern told reporters in Napier that February 7 would be her last day as prime minister.
“My sixth year in office is about to begin and every year I have done my best,”she added.
She announced that New Zealand’s next general elections will be held on October 14 and that he will continue to serve as an MP until then.
