Sudhir Suri murder: 5 Hindu leaders get bullet-proof jackets in Ludhiana, security beefed up

Chandigarh: After the murder of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar, police have given bullet proof jackets to five Hindu leaders from Ludhiana to help ensure security. Their security cover have also been increased.

Those who got bullet-proof jackets include Rajiv Tandon, Yogesh Bakshi, Amit Arora, Neeraj Bhardwaj and Harkirat Khurana, besides Congress leader Gursimran Singh Mand.

The security wing of the police has become active and was reviewing the security of Hindu leaders after the murder in Amritsar.

According to the information received, after the security review report was sent, a message came from the police headquarters on Sunday that these leaders should be given bullet proof jackets. After this, all these leaders were called to the police line and they were provided jackets by the police officers.

These leaders have already been given police security personnel. Amit Arora has welcomed the initiative of the police administration and said that it will not create a sense of insecurity among Hindu leaders.

Meanwhile, Hindu leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead by Sandeep Singh alias Sunny, who runs a readymade garments business, outside the Gopal temple in Amritsar two days back.
