NEW DELHI: Considering tremendous success at Tokyo Olympics, Indian government has decided to allocate more budget to sports as Union government on Tuesday allocated Rs 3062.60 crore for financial year 2022-23.
This is a rise of Rs 305.58 crore, compared to the last year’s budget, the fiance ministry said today.
Last year, government allocated Rs 2596.14 crore for sports, which was later revised to Rs 2757.02 crore.
In the recently held Olympics, country’s sportsmen won seven medals, including a historic track and field gold.
