Sidhu Moosewala killed in gang rivalry: police investigation

Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was targeted by about 60 gangsters and his supporters in a conspiracy. Investigations by The Delhi and Punjab Police so far have revealed that Moosewala’s murder was the result of mutual enmity between the gangsters. However, Moosewala himself was not involved in any criminal activity.

Hundreds of police personnel from Mansa and Bathinda districts and Delhi were also investigating the case. Data from millions of phones was scanned and the shooters were identified through the internet or CCTV to track down the issues. Three of the six shooters are still out of custody in spite of so much running around. The weapons used in the killing of Sidhu Moosewala are also yet to be found. The shooters had given the weapons to a man from Bhiwani (Haryana) who is yet to be traced.

Adding to the police investigation and the claims made by the accused on social media, the Punjab and Delhi Police say that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had ordered the killing of Moosewala from Tihar Jail itself. Four wanted gangsters Canada based Goldy Brar, Sachin Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi had hatched a plan to kill the Punjabi singer. They had a network in at least 10 jails in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

Another gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria had provided two shooters. Moosewala’s murder is the result of a rivalry between the gangsters. Lucky Patiala and Bhupi Rana of Bambiha group had killed Goldie Brar’s brother Gurlal Brar on October 11, 2020 in Industrial Area, Chandigarh. Goldie had announced to avenge the murder of his brother.

He, along with Bishnoi, had avenged the murder of his brother by killing Gurlal Pehalwan, who was associated with the Bambiha faction, near Jubilee Chowk in Faridkot on February 18, 2021. Subsequently, the Bombiha Group killed Vicky Middukhera in Mohali on August 7, 2021. The Bishnoi group retaliated by targeting Moosewala.
