Jalandhar: PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has appointed his loyalist and Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh as PPCC General Secretary (Organization) on Monday.
Pargat has been corroborating Sidhu’s political moves since he joined the Congress in 2017. He was among a few leaders who had objected functioning of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh while supporting Sidhu.
“With the approval of Hon’ble Congress President Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal and Punjab Congress-in-charge Harish Rawat, I hereby appoint Pargat Singh as PPCC general secretary (Organization) with immediate effect,”Sidhu said.
Meanwhile, the party is also going to appoint district level coordinators and presidents of the district units, besides other office-bearers. Sidhu has reportedly sent his proposal in this regard to party high command.
