Mohali: SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami on Wednesday reached Mohali in Punjab to press for the release of Sikh prisoners, but his vehicle was vandalised by protesters here.
The protesters pelted stones at his vehicle and raised slogans.
Reacting to this, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal strongly condemned this incident and demanded action against miscreants.
At the same time, action was also taken by the police to against protesting Sikh jathebandis, who gathered near Gurudwara Amb Sahib and have been protesting for the last few days.
The protest was being held under the banner of Qaumi Insaaf Morcha. Sikh protesters said that this permanent front will continue until these demands are met. They are demanding release of Sikh prisoners.
