“Sensational lie spread on Social media”: says Indian High Commissioner to UK over action against Amritpal Singh

London: “There is no truth in the sensational lies being circulated on social media,” Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswamy said on Wednesday, explaining the situation in Punjab.

“I assure all my friends here in the UK, especially brothers and sisters with relatives in Punjab, that there is no truth in the sensational lies being circulated on social media.”

A handful of people spread misinformation

The Indian High Commissioner to the UK said, “The situation in your native homeland is not the same as it is being said. The state’s elected chief minister and local police officials have given detailed information, including television interviews, please check out. Can’t believe a handful of people spread misinformation.”

The High Commissioner said that on March 18, a campaign was launched by the Punjab Police against the elements of Waris Punjab De. Criminal cases have been registered against them. In particular, cases have been registered against the head of this organization Amritpal Singh and some other elements.
