Sri Nagar: Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached Lal in Srinagar. Here Rahul Gandhi hoisted the flag as per the schedule.
As soon as the tricolor was hoisted, there was a tremendous enthusiasm among Congress workers. Rahul Gandhi is accompanied by his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi.
Along with this, the top leadership of the Congress is also present at Lal Chowk. Tight security arrangements have also been made. The entire area around Lal Chowk has been sealed and a multi-tier security cordon has been set up around the city centre.
After Lal Chowk, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will proceed towards Nehru Park in the city’s Boulevard area, where the 4,080-km-long padyatra will conclude on January 30. The yatra started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7 and has covered 75 districts across the country.
According to the information, on Monday, Rahul Gandhi will hoist the tricolor at the Congress headquarters on MA Road in Srinagar, after which a public meeting will be held at SK Stadium. Leaders of 23 opposition parties have been invited for this public meeting.
