Singapore: Two-time Olympic medallist India’s badminton player PV Sindhu defeated China’s Wang Xie Yi in the women’s singles final to clinch the Singapore Open Super 500 tournament title here today.
She defeated 22-year-old Wang, a gold medallist at the Asian Championships, 21-9, 11-21, 21-15. This is Sindhu’s third title of the season. After losing the first two points in the first game, he made a stunning comeback with the help of drift to win.
The third and decisive game saw a tough fight. Meanwhile Sindhu retained her superb game to clinch the title.
