Punjab CM should refrain from interfering in the management of Gurudwaras for political gain: SGPC President Dhami

AMRITSAR: Reacting to the statement given by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the government should not interfere in the affairs of Guru’s house.

He said that the SGPC is an elected representatives body of the Sikh Panth, which is constantly working for the management of Gurdwaras as well as for the flourishing and propagation of the faith.

The SGPC President said that the CM Mann should pay attention to his government works and should not indulge in politics over religion.

“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann talked about broadcasting of Gurbani Kirtan but the SGPC has already constricted a body in this regard to start its own channel for broadcasting of live Gurbani Kirtan from Golden Temple Amritsar,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Akal Takht has directed the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) to launch its own channel to telecast Gurbani Kirtan Live from Golden Temple than giving rights to only channel.
