Punjab CM proposes to rename Halwara airport after Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha

Chandigarh: The proceedings of the last day of the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha have begun. Meanwhile, there is a continuous ruckus by the opposition in the House. During the Question Hour in the Opposition raised slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party government seeking a discussion on law and order situation in the state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann moved a proposal to name the airport being built at Halwara after Kartar Singh Sarabha. He said that a proposal for this will be sent to the Ministry of International Aviation and a recommendation will be made.

Earlier, Congress MLAs went in front of the Speaker’s chair and raised slogans during the question and answer session of the Assembly session.

They also questioned Punjab Police’s action against large numbers of Sikh youths in the Amritpal Singh, Waris Punjab De chief case. Leader of Opposition Partap Bajwa has sought resignation of CM Mann for deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab and questioned that how the Amritpal managed to escape despite massive police action.
