Popular woman RJ among four females booked for hurting Sikh sentiments

Zirakpur: Four days after local police arrested Sethi Dhaba owner Vijay Kumar Sethi, the  Zirakpur police have also booked popular radio jockey Meenakshi and three other women for allegedly hurting Sikh sentiments, here on Tuesday.

A video went viral on the social media in which RJ and other women could be seen dancing to Sikh hymns in a derogatory manner during a Teej function on Friday. The function was organized by a Panchkula-based women’s social club at the dhaba in Zirakpur.

Station house officer Zirakpur Onkar Singh Brar that a case has been registered Sethi, RJ Meenakshi, Panchkula residents Jyoti Sehgal, Poonam Sehgal and Preeti for hurting religious sentiments. Seti has been arrested and remaining accused in this case would be apprehended soon.

The video invited criticism from various Sikh organizations and community leaders and later a case was registered on Friday night on the complaint filed by Jaswinder Singh Rajpura. Sethi has on Monday produced before local court and sent to judicial custody.
