PM Modi to inaugurate Asia’s largest air show in Bengaluru today

Bengaluru: People will get to see aerial demonstrations and many feats during the ‘Aero India Show’ starting today in Bengaluru. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the show today which will run till February 17.

The show will showcase India’s indigenous strength and showcase several fighter aircraft and helicopters. According to the official website of Aero India, 807 exhibitors, including 109 foreigners, have confirmed their participation in the ‘Aero India Show’ to be held at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka.

Participants from 98 countries, defence ministers from 32 countries and air chiefs of 29 countries and 73 CEOs from global and Indian origin equipment manufacturers are expected to participate in the event, the biggest ever.

Around 800 defence companies and startups will showcase technological advancements and developments in aviation and defence sectors.

According to defence officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a five-day event at yelahanka airport with the theme “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”. The air show will showcase India’s growth in the field of aviation and its defence capabilities. Several fighter aircraft and helicopters will perform during the show.

The ‘Aero India Show’ will have an India pavilion, which will showcase India’s development in this field. India’s light combat aircraft Tejas will be the center of attraction in the Indian pavilion.
