Kathmandu: A FlyDubai flight in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu suffered engine failure after takeoff. The flight took off from the Tribhuvan International Airport with around 150 people on board.

The aircraft returned as soon as the engine malfunction was reported. The pilots later told the control tower that they would proceed once all the indicators were found to be normal. After the inspection, the aircraft was later flown to Dubai. More than 150 people, including 50 Nepalese passengers, are on board the aircraft.

A FlyDubai Airlines spokesperson said that there have been reports of engine failure on Fly Dubai Flight 576 from Kathmandu to Dubai. A bird collided with the aircraft while taking off from Kathmandu. Thereafter, standard procedure was followed and flights to Dubai continued as usual.
